12th Annual Rio Rancho Mayor's Sunday is Funday Event

The 12th Annual Mayor’s Sunday is Funday is taking place on August 20 from noon to 4 p.m. at Haynes Park, 2006 Grande Blvd., across from Intel on N.M. 528. Admission is $1 for those ages 13 and older, and free parking with shuttle service will be available at the Intel parking lot off Westside Blvd.

The theme for the event is ‘Celebrating Excellence.’ At this fun family style picnic, you’ll find many exciting events and musical entertainment along with inexpensive food choices. The event will feature a rock climbing wall, games and activities for kids, and a variety of vendor booths. During the event, you can also take a dip in the Haynes public pool, and participate in a silent auction inside the Haynes Community Center.

Those interested in being an event sponsor, booth vendor to market or sell family or youth-oriented products, to contribute to the silent auction, or additional information should contact Sandoval County Commissioner Dave Heil at daveheil16@msn.com.

Sunday is Funday was created by Tony Popper, a former Rio Rancho City Councilor, Rio Rancho Kiwanis President, and community volunteer.
