Fitness Classes

All fitness classes take place at the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center located at 745 Loma Colorado Blvd. Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124.   

Class Membership:  

  • $25 a month adults up to age 54, $22 for Seniors 55 and up
  • Unlimited classes first come first served.
  • $5 drop-in fee
  • Membership fee due by the 5th of every month
  • All classes ages 15 and up
  • Classes are subject to change

The City of Rio Rancho is now accepting Renew Active, Silver Sneakers® and Prime Fitness Programs to be used for fitness classes or lap swimming. To check eligibility, call Marcella at (505) 891-5231 or email at mcano@rrnm.gov. 


Indoor Cycling 

Whether you’re an experienced outdoor cyclist or your feet haven’t touched the pedals since you were a kid indoor group cycling has something for you. Cycling provides you with a fantastic cardiovascular workout which is key to a healthy body and strong heart. Padded cycling shorts and heart rate monitors are recommended but not required. All fitness levels are welcome. Please notice the new format for our classes below.

*Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to allow for proper bike set-up.

Class times: 

  • 9:00 a.m. - Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • 8:00 a.m. - Fridays
  • 6:00 p.m. - Tuesdays and Thursdays 
  • Maximum participants: 12

Circuit City 

This class is the perfect combination of heart pumping cardio and resistance training. You'll hit every muscle group as you burn calories zipping through stations of different fitness equipment that may include TRX Suspension Ropes, Kettlebells, medicine balls, jump ropes, and weights. This class is ideal for both men and women of all fitness levels who want total body results in a limited amount of time.

Class times:

  • 9:00 a.m. - Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • 6:00 p.m. - Mondays and Wednesdays
  • Maximum participants: 12

Yoga

Enjoy a gentle flow in motion followed by a substantial and soothing sequence of seated poses that leave you feeling complete and nourished. Personal mats are encouraged but not required.

Class times:

  • 10:00 a.m. - Mondays and Wednesdays 
  • Maximum participants: 12

Sound Healing

A hybrid class that combines sound healing through auditory tones and vibrational frequencies with guided meditation and light yoga.  This class explores your spiritual side and helps connect you to your higher self by going inward and expanding your consciousness.

Class times:

  • 9:00 a.m. - Fridays 
  • Maximum participants: 12

Aqua Zumba 

Known as the Zumba Pool Party, the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that's cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

  • 9:00 a.m. -  Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Maximum participants: 30

Aqua Fitness

This low impact, high/low intensity water class is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. Class is held in the shallow water activity pool.
 
Class times:

  • 8:00 a.m. - Mondays
  • 9:00 a.m. - Wednesdays
  • 7:00 p.m. - Wednesdays 
  • Maximum participants: 30

Deep Water

This class is similar to Aqua Fitness but held in deeper water. Class is held in the competition pool.
