Virtual Time Capsule Opening Event on May 14, 2021

The City of Rio Rancho invites citizens to virtually attend a Time Capsule Opening event on May 14, 2021 at 3:00 p.m., wherein Mayor Hull will open a time capsule put together and sealed in 2001 by City of Rio Rancho staff, community members, and elected officials. The time capsule contains various items intended to memorialize our community and to consider the future optimistically. Because 2021 is the City’s 40th Anniversary, and to fulfill the wish of the time capsule remaining unopened for 20 years, the City of Rio Rancho will host a Virtual Time Capsule Opening Event.

Those wishing to see what items were put into the time capsule 20 years ago, can virtually attend the event by visiting https://zoom.us/j/96061540864 and entering Meeting ID: 960 6154 0864 and Passcode: 696555.

Project Scrapbook

From February 22 through May 29, 2021, citizens can create a scrapbook page detailing their life in the City of Rio Rancho. From its incorporation in 1981 to today, the City has a rich history, and we want to see it! Collect a scrapbook starter kit from Loma Colorado Main Library (755 Loma Colorado Blvd), Esther Bone Memorial Library (950 Pinetree Rd), the Rio Rancho Aquatics Center (745 Loma Colorado Blvd), or M'tucci's Moderno (1908 Wellspring Ave). Complete your scrapbook page and return it to any location. All pages will be put in a physical and digital scrapbook.

Rio Rancho Restaurant Bingo

Rio Rancho Restaurant Bingo was developed by the City of Rio Rancho’s Business Community & Economic Recovery Task Force as a way for citizens to support Rio Rancho businesses during the pandemic. It is an easy and fun way to not only eat great food and support local businesses, but also to win gift certificates ranging from $25 to $500 to even more Rio Rancho businesses.

Visit www.rioranchobingo.com, download bingo cards, make a purchase at the locations listed and complete one row on the bingo card to create a Bingo!, then upload pictures of receipts and your bingo cards. Ranging from alligator to bagels, breakfast, burritos, burgers to pasta, pizza, and pho across Rio Rancho’s 90+ eateries, there are plenty of ways to black out your bingo card. It’s never been easier to show your support and earn great prizes! For more information about the game, including rules and prize giveaways, please visit www.rioranchobingo.com.
