City of Rio Rancho’s 40th Anniversary

Rio Rancho is officially 40 years old and, in 2021, we will honor and celebrate our past, present, and future with a variety of activities and events.

“This year, let’s celebrate our 40 years accomplishments that have contributed to Rio Rancho being recognized as one of the best places to live in the country,” said Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull.

To kick-off our celebratory year, we invite all Rio Ranchoans to take part in the following, COVID-safe activities:

Project Scrapbook

From February 22 through May 29, 2021, citizens can create a scrapbook page detailing their life in the City of Rio Rancho. From its incorporation in 1981 to today, the City has a rich history, and we want to see it! Collect a scrapbook starter kit from Loma Colorado Main Library, Esther Bone Memorial Library, the Rio Rancho Aquatics Center, or M'tucci's Moderno. Complete your scrapbook page and return it to any location. All pages will be put in a physical and digital scrapbook.

Share Your Rio Rancho Story

Throughout 2021, we invite residents to record their Rio Rancho story or to interview a Rio Rancho citizen via StoryCorps Connect. Download the StoryCorps app to your mobile device or visit StoryCorps Connect, create your free account, prepare questions (make up your own or click here to download sample questions), record, then save and share it with the City of Rio Rancho's 40th Anniversary community

Rio Rancho Restaurant Bingo

Rio Rancho Restaurant Bingo was developed by the City of Rio Rancho’s Business Community & Economic Recovery Task Force as a way for citizens to support Rio Rancho businesses during the pandemic. It is an easy and fun way to not only eat great food and support local businesses, but also to win gift certificates ranging from $25 to $500 to even more Rio Rancho businesses. Visit, download bingo cards, make a purchase at the locations listed and complete one row on the bingo card to create a Bingo!, then upload pictures of receipts and your bingo cards. Ranging from alligator to bagels, breakfast, burritos, burgers to pasta, pizza, and pho across Rio Rancho’s 90+ eateries, there are plenty of ways to black out your bingo card. It’s never been easier to show your support and earn great prizes! For more information about the game, including rules and prize giveaways, please visit

More events, programs, and activities are forthcoming. Visit for an updated list of events throughout the year. Watch the 40th Anniversary promotional video here:
