The Palace Project
The Palace Project The Palace Project is an app-based eBook and audiobook lending service. Accessing the service is simple: download the Project Palace app on the App Store or Google Play, search for New Mexico State Library in the app, and then read any of the of thousands of available titles. The Palace Project is accessible only through the app The Palace Project.  

New Mexico Reads
New Mexico Reads is an eBook collection that primarily includes Southwest history and culture titles and fiction by New Mexico authors or set in the Southwest. New Mexico Reads also includes some books on racism in America, library and information science, national topics such as the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, and a selection of audiobooks. There is a small collection of books for children and tweens and teens.

Newspapers


New York Times 
This is a daily newspaper accessible both online and in print, to access the online articles please follow the below steps:

  • Go to the Gale Databases (courtesy of the NM State Library) link on the Research databases webpage.
  • Log in with your library card number and last name
  • Navigate to Gale General One File (third row, center)
  • Click "Go to Publication Search" (right side of page)
  • Enter "New York Times" in the search bar, select "New York Times" from the list
  • Select the date for the newspaper you would like to read

NewsBank
NewsBank is an online, searchable database providing access to three New Mexico newspapers. Each paper provides unique coverage of local and regional news, including companies, politics, sports, industries, cultural activities, and people in the community. Paid ads are excluded.

The papers currently included are:

  • Albuquerque Journal: January 1, 1995 to present
  • Las Cruces Sun-News: February 14, 2004 to present
  • Roswell Daily Record: January 2, 2002 to present

Databases

Access the following resources with your valid library card (Library offered databases are a reliable and authoritative source provided for your use by the Rio Rancho Public Library and/or the New Mexico State Library):

Ancestry.com
Ancestry Library Edition has images of more than seven billion documents, registers, and indexes, including censuses from the U.S. and many other nations, vital records, military records, immigration lists, school yearbooks, city directories, church histories, and land records. It also has how-to guides, searching tools, ways to share with others, blank charts and forms, dictionaries, maps, pictures, and stories. Ancestry Library Edition is only available on computers within the library.  Look for the flag icon on the public access computer screen.

Brainfuse HelpNow
Brainfuse HelpNow provides students of all ages with live online tutoring and homework help in English and Spanish from 2pm - 11pm. It includes 24/7 access to a comprehensive library of interactive tests, including academic skills assessments, standardized tests, and New Mexico-aligned tests.

Brainfuse JobNow provides career resources, resume and interview help.

Business Insights: Essentials
This resource center offers company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies, and business periodicals.

Chilton Online Auto Repair Manuals
Chilton's manuals contain do-it-yourself auto repair information.

El Portal
El Portal’s user-friendly access is available from any online connection including from home, work, school, the library, and portable devices such as smart phones. Search over 50 databases at once! Topics include medical, academic, arts, culinary, popular culture, business resources including newspapers, reference books, magazines, and trade publications. Get started today with the tutorial.

Expanded Academic ASAP
This database contains articles from scholarly journals, news magazines, and newspapers.

Gale Databases
With Gale Databases, you can choose from over 50 separate databases or search all of them at once. The listing includes health journals, sports medicine, fine arts, culinary arts, and popular magazines.
